A Birthday by the Pool

Joab’s birthday was a mix of fun and frustration for me. Everyone was splashing around in the pool, but I couldn’t join because, well, it was that time of the month. Instead, I spent my time taking photos—capturing the fun instead of being in it. Even though I couldn’t swim, I still enjoyed the day because it gave me the chance to bond with others. Sometimes, it’s the connections we make that matter more than the activities themselves.

Finding Joy in the Crowd

The next day, I decided to watch the Mr. and Ms. Mabini pageant at our school, hoping it would distract me from the sadness I’d been feeling. To my surprise, it worked. I cheered so loudly and got so lost in the excitement that for a moment, I forgot about everything else. The night was filled with fun, laughter, and pure energy. It turned out to be one of the best nights of my life, proving that even in the darkest times, joy has a way of finding you.

A Lonely and Heartbreaking Day

This day was one of the hardest I’ve had. I was feeling down and decided to watch the singing competition at our school’s event, hoping it would lift my spirits. I went to talk to a friend, but he ended up shouting at me. I knew he was stressed too, but it still hurt. The weight of everything pushed me to go to the church, where I sat alone, crying and asking for the pain to stop. It was a moment where loneliness felt overwhelming, but somehow, being in that quiet place gave me a sliver of comfort.

A Surprising Closure

The first day of our school’s centennial event was full of excitement, but the real story happened after the event. Someone invited me to hang out, and to my surprise, he was with someone from my past—someone I wasn’t exactly on good terms with. Awkward? Definitely. But we ended up eating together and playing at a café, which somehow broke the ice. By the end of the day, we talked things out and found closure. It was unexpected, but it felt like a weight had been lifted from my chest.
